Healthcare

It is difficult to imagine how some living in rural China have never once had the opportunity to be seen by a doctor. Every year, Operation Blessing China sends dozens of medical teams, involving many experienced volunteer doctors to these impoverished areas, bringing love and care to each patient.

  • Operation Blessing China has helped over 130,000 patients receive basic healthcare check-ups since 1999
  • In 2006, over 26,000 patients were treated at medical clinics conducted in 7 provinces (Hebei, Shanxi, Henan, Shandong, Hunan, Hubei and Gansu)

In 2007, Operation Blessing China will launch specialized medical clinics that focus on the dental needs of migrant communities, beginning with our long-time partner, Hua Ao Migrant Worker School. A weekly dental clinic is hosted for the benefit of the 1500 student community. These students will benefit from check-ups, training on dental care, receive basic dental kits, and basic dental treatment.

This year will also see eye clinics benefiting the rural poor, particularly the elderly. Applicants from these clinics and through our partner hospitals have the opportunity to undergo free cataract surgeries. For many, to be able to see again means being released back into the workforce, independent livelihood and renewed sense of confidence.
