Education

Although many children living in poor areas in China are not required to pay for their full tuition, related school and educational costs exceed the ability of many families living in poverty and extreme poverty. Operation Blessing China’s Education Program has assisted thousands of children from 14 provinces with their tuition and related educational costs, helping many who otherwise would never complete a primary and middle school education.

Operation Blessing China also seeks to find ways to help assist the educational needs of children of migrant workers living in China’s cities.

  • Since the program’s inception, Operation Blessing China has helped over 4,000 elementary and middle school students from 14 different provinces and regions receive educational assistance enabling them to continue their education
  • In 2006, 1,900 students from 8 provinces and regions (Gansu, Guangxi, Hebei, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan, Yunnan and Beijing) received educational assistance
  • Operation Blessing China continued its longstanding partnership with Hua Ao Migrant Worker School in Beijing – providing achievement scholarships for nearly 200 students, and coordinating a university volunteer program that provided teachers for weekly instruction in the arts and sciences
