Disaster Relief and In-Kind Donations

Disaster victims are faced with immediate challenges and long-term needs that require the involvement of all of society. Through Operation Blessing China’s newly established Gift-in-Kind Program, Operation Blessing China works with foreign and domestic enterprises as well as compassionate individuals of society to help gather and distribute critically needed goods.

The World Health Organization notes that almost 2 billion people (one third of humanity) were affected by natural disasters in the last decade of the 20th century. Operation Blessing China partners with China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation to provide immediate disaster assistance to those impacted by floods and other natural disasters

  • In 2006, Operation Blessing China with China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation responded to flooding in Hunan and Fujian Provinces. Milk powder and basic aid in the form of blankets and bedding were distributed to 2,500 people affected by the flooding.
  • 245 people suffering from leprosy in Guangdong were provided with medicated ointment and skin lotions.
  • Operation Blessing China responded quickly and helped Yaojin village in Sichuan to rebuild homes, and the villagers were able to move into their new homes about 9 months after great Sichuan earthquake.
